On April 12, 2017, Moscow hosted the international round table "Eurasian Integration: Weak Links and Points of Growth" organized by the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Social State University and participated by the experts from the Eurasian Union member states.
Chief Research Fellow of the KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan, Vyacheslav Dodonov spoke on Kazakhstan's economy within the Eurasian integration and the related trends and interim results during the period 2010-2016. Dr. Dodonov touched the two key areas, namely the mutual trade within the Union and the investments with the emphasis on the investment in the processing industries that are the most important for Kazakhstan. Dr. Dodonov concluded that the outcomes of the membership in the EEU have been mainly positive for Kazakhstan since the trade with the EEU members is more intense than the one with the third countries. Moreover, the investments inflow of from the EEU is more intensive and more focused on the processing industry than the foreign investment from outside the EEU.
