KazISS Experts’ Meeting: Batyrkhan Kurmanseit Speaks on Prospects of Kazakhstan - Japan Cooperation


In the course of the series of events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, on January 26, 2017, the Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan held the meeting with a prominent expert on and scholar of Japan Batyrkhan Kurmanseit.

Batyrkhan Kurmanseit outlined the main stages and events since Kazakhstan and Japan established the diplomatic relations when Toyo recognized Kazakhstan’s independence in December 1991 and touched upon the key issues of the bilateral cooperation, namely development assistance provided by Japan, cooperation in the energy sector, investments in Kazakhstan’s economy and others.

The experts present at the meeting discussed the prospects for further cooperation and expansion of the areas of collaboration between the two nations.

The KazISS Experts’ Meeting is a joint project of the KazISS and the "Public Opinion" Research Institute aimed at providing a platform for foreign and local experts so that they could share their views on the current issues and various topics of greater significance.
