From June 30 until July 2, 2017, Bishkek hosted the 15th Biennial Conference of the European Society for Central Asian Studies. The event is jointly with leading universities of Central Asia and Europe. The expert forum, being the largest interdisciplinary platform, unites the prominent researchers on Central Asia from the USA, Europe and Central Asia.
The Conference was attended by the KazISS’ Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbayev, and Chief Research Fellow Irina Chernykh.
Dr. Kushkumbayev participated in the panel discussion on regional integration where he outlined the key trends in the international policy and international relations studies in Central Asia as well as various concepts and external factors of formation of the region.
The Conference gathered more than 400 scholars and experts from Central Asia, Europe and the USA, who represented various schools in social sciences and humanities.
