KazISS Receive Delegation from Dialogue of Civilizations" Research Institute

Within the framework of Astana Economic Forum of 17-18 May 2018, the Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan received the delegation of the "Dialogue of Civilizations" Research Institute represented by Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Grigory Levchenko, Director of Corporate Communications and Head of the Institute's Representative Office in Moscow, Arlena Khachatryan, Program Director and Andrey Filippov, Program Manager.

The KazISS Director of Zarema Shaukenova, the Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbaev, Secretary for Academic Affairs and Research Kazbek Issaev, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Social and Economic analysis Anna Alshanskaya and Research Fellow of the Department of International Analysis Adilkhan Gadelshiev participated in the event.

Dr. Zarema Shaukenova told the guests about the structure of the Institute and its main activities. As for the Kazakh-Russian relations, Dr. Zarema Shaukenova stressed that their long-standing and  comprehensive character.

Dr. Vladimir Yakunin told about the "Dialogue of Civilizations", Research Institute, which is an international non-governmental  think tank headquartered in Berlin (Germany), the various areas of its work, namely  social regression, consolidation of society, development of economic models of the modern world, cultural and civilizational features of the West and East, as well as the role of the world politics, international institutions and global infrastructural projects in promoting sustainable and inclusive development. Over the past two years, the Institute has made about 600 publications and holds the Rhodes forum annually.

The discussion covered the  prospects for further cooperation between the two think tanks. Mutual interest was expressed in the intensification of the research cooperation.
