On November 12-13, the IV Astana club meeting was held with the main theme " on the way to greater Eurasia: how to build a common future?". The organizers of "Astana club" are the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy and the Institute of world economy and politics at the Fund.
The Forum was attended by more than 50 speakers from 30 countries, including well-known politicians, diplomats and respected scientists from Austria, Afghanistan, Belgium, great Britain, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Spain, Italy, China, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, Russia, USA, Croatia, Sweden and Japan.
Experts of the KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan – Director Zarema Shaukenova and chief researcher Murat Laumulin participated in the second panel session "geo-Economics of Eurasia: between confrontation and consolidation", which discussed the transformation of greater Eurasia.
The speakers at the second panel session was made by Nick Gowing (moderator), presenter BBC World News (1996-2014), Professor of the Royal College of the UK, Jose Manuel Barroso, ex-President of the European Commission (2004-2014), Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan (2004-2007), Robert Kaplan, senior Advisor, political risk consultant Eurasia Group, the expert on geopolitics (USA), Yan Swatun, Professor, Dean of the faculty of international relations of Tsinghua University, Secretary General of the Global forum of the world (China), Johannes F. Linn, senior fellow at the Brookings institution, former Vice-President of the world Bank for Europe and Central Asia.
Also, of the special session of the IV meeting of "Astana club" was held the presentation of the international research "Rating of global risks for Eurasia in 2019". More than 30 authoritative experts and politicians, Nobel prize winners, whose opinion is taken into account by the leaders of States, international institutions and the largest media, took part in the work on the study. More than 1,000 professional respondents from 60 countries were surveyed using the survey method. The purpose of the rating is to assess the current geopolitical and geo-economic processes, both in the region of Eurasia and around the world as a whole.
