Third Modernization of Kazakhstan

"Only those nations who manage to set the future goals and proceed resolutely facing the challenges,

instead of sitting on the hedge and waiting, are the winners."

Values of a modern Kazakhstani in the era of global digitalization

Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting with experts in the field of human development to discuss the impact of digitalization on human values on June 24. The meeting was held at the Eurasian Media Forum (EMF)site during the session "Life in a facilitated world", in which Gerd Leonhard, futurologist, head of The Futures Agency, Switzerland, David Applefield, special representative of Financial Times, USA-France, Jacek Palkiewicz, Member of the Royal Geographical Society, founder of the School of Survival in Europe, Poland, Irina Khakamada, Russian public figure participated (http://eamedia.org/agenda-ru/timetable-ru/).

In his Address to the People of Kazakhstan of January 31, 2017, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev emphasized that the first priority of the third modernization of Kazakhstan and the condition of global competitiveness is the accelerated technological modernization of the economy.

At the same time, with rapid development of technologies there is a crisis of direct human communication, vulnerability of personal data of a person, strengthening of cosmopolitanism and erosion of identity. There is a crisis of meanings. The question arises: what are the inner moral beliefs and spiritual ideals of modern man? How does the surrounding reality transform his/her value orientations? The ubiquitous digitalization radically transforms not only our society and economy but our values and even our biology. The society is experiencing cognitive dissonance. The old mental and value orientations undergo transformation under the influence of new technologies. In these conditions it is important to determine the trends in human interaction and information and communication technologies.

That is why simultaneously with the accelerated technological modernization of the economy Kazakhstan has taken a course toward modernization of public consciousness outlined in the program article of N.A.Nazarbayev "A Look into the Future: Modernization of Public Consciousness".
