On September 6, 2018, on the eve of the Family Day, the Ministry of Public Development of the RK held a round table on "The Role of the Family in the Process of Modernizing the Kazakhstan Society".
State Secretary, Chairman of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova, Minister of Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kaletayev, Deputies of the Mazhilis Meruyert Kazbekova, Bakhytbek Smagul, Irina Smirnova, and well-known public figures and leaders of scientific organizations that study issues of family and family education.
In his speech, the Minister of Social Development, Darkhan Kaletayev noted that the Roadmap for improving legislation in the sphere of family policy, updating the Concept of Family and Gender Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030. According to the Minister, measures will be taken to strengthen efforts to promote family values and traditions, to preserve the continuity of the generations through the organization of the cultural, educational and cultural events, centers. In addition, it is planned to build work with scientific institutions and centers for the strengthening of the family.
The report was made by the director of KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zarema Shaukenova, emphasized that the family plays a fundamental role in the life of everyone and in understanding the functions of the family as a social institution is the assessment of family well-being (presentation).
During the round table, the main socio-demographic indicators of family well-being, including world trends and the Kazakhstan level, as well as international experience of family development were discussed.
As a result of the event, the participants developed and adopted recommendations on the strengthening and development of the family institution in Kazakhstan, taking into account the best international and national practices.
