On 27th of June, 2018 a round table "Priorities of "think tanks": the construction of a new reality" in the framework of the International Scientific Conference "Great capitals - smart cities" dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana was held. The event was organized by the Institute for Eurasian Integration and L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Professor of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Marina Mozheiko, Doctor of Philosophy Nazirjon Nazarov, Analyst of the SF "Civil Initiatives Implementation Center", also other foreign and Kazakhstan experts participated the round table.
Head of the Department of Social and Economic Analysis of KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lyazzat Nurkatova acted as a co-moderator of the round table. In her opening speech, Lyazzat Nurkatova accentuated the attention of participants on the fact that 25 years have passed since the establishment of KazISS. She also informed about the main results and achievements of the leading analytical center of country, which in 2017 ranked 140th out of 7815 world think tanks in the ranking of the University of Pennsylvania “Global Go To Think Tank Index Report”.
The round table became a kind of platform for discussing topical issues of the development of smart cities, establishing an international information exchange between expert communities. The guest-speakers congratulated participants on the 20th anniversary of Astana – the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
