On March 16, 2017, the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan in Astana hosted the conference "Together towards the Future: Education in Germany and Kazakhstan". The conference was one in the series of events to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Germany. The opening speeches were delivered by Deputy Chairman and Secretary General of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan Darkhan Mynbay, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko, Ambassador of FRG to Kazakhstan Rolf Mafael, FRG Foreign Ministry Officer Hydrun Tempel.
Head of the KazISS Department of Economic Analysis Naila Almukhamedova participated in the panel session on "Vocational Education: A Economic New Impulse for the Two Countries". Dr. Almukhamedova dwelled on the role of vocational training given that Kazakhstan is undergoing the third stage of comprehensive modernization. The expert also highlighted importance of double diploma and dual qualification for the education in Kazakhstan and those economic benefits that both Kazakhstan and Germany may gain trough better cooperation in this field.
The panel session was also participated by the experts from the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, the "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs as well as the representatives of the business community of Kazakhstan and Germany.
