A delegation of experts of KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Deputy Director of Madina Nurgaliyeva, Marat Zhumagulov, scientific Secretary of the Kazbek Issayev, the main scientific staff Vyacheslav Dodonov, Konstantin Syroezhkin, as well as the Director of the Confucius Institute at ENU. L. N. Gumilev Saule Koshanova at the official invitation of the Embassy of the people's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan made a working visit to China.
The initiative to promote comprehensive Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership, as well as deepening cooperation at the expert level was put forward by the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao (https://www.inform.kz/ru/kayrat-abdrahmanov-vstretilsya-s-novym-poslom-knr-v-kazahstane_a3452090) September 18, 2018 during his visit to KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan and a meeting with the leadership of the Institute (http://www.kisi.kz/en/categories/articles/posts/the-kaziss-held-a-series-of-meetings-with-experts-from-chin).
During the visit, the experts held a few of meetings with leading experts of the "brain" centers of China. On 5th of November in Beijing, the delegation visited the Chinese Academy of contemporary international relations (CICIR, http://www.cicir.ac.cn) is a long-standing partner of the Institute for strategic studies under the President of Kazakhstan met with senior Advisor and former President CASIR Czi Jie, Director of the Institute of Central Asia CASIR Dean Xiasin, expert CASIR E.Tyanle. During the meeting, the experts discussed the current state of Kazakh-Chinese, Chinese-Russian and Chinese-American relations, as well as the implementation of the "Belt and road" initiative, security issues, the fight against terrorism and extremism. In addition, the experts exchanged views on the situation related to the protection of the rights and interests of ethnic Kazakhs from XUAR and expressed the hope that all issues will be resolved in a positive way on the basis of the principles of mutual trust and good neighborliness.
6th of November in Beijing held a meeting with representatives of the Academy of social Sciences in China (CASS, www.casseng.cssn.cn) is Director of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Sun Juanji, Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Sun Lee, program Manager of the Council for strategic cooperation between China and Russia Su Chan, chief editor of the journal for the studies of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Lee Zhonghai, a researcher of the Center "One belt, one road" Xiao Bin. The experts discussed the current geopolitical challenges and threats, the further development of the "Belt and road" initiative, the development of the SCO, as well as the formation of the Kazakh sinological school.
On 8th November in Shanghai, the delegation of Institute for strategic studies under the President of Kazakhstan visited the Shanghai Academy of international studies, where he met with the President of the Academy, Chen Dunxiao, Director of the Institute of world economic studies and Centre for studies of Russia and Central Asia Lee Sin, Deputy Director of the Institute for the study of global governance Zhao Long (http://www.siis.org.cn/Content/Info/4U5YDC5TLKP1). The parties discussed issues of further cooperation of analytical structures: participation in the upcoming II forum on the development of the "Belt and road" initiative in 2019, mutual training of experts, as well as the preparation of a joint analytical report.
Experts of the KazISS visited one of the most prestigious and oldest universities of China – Fudan University, where he met with the Director of the Institute for the study of Russia and Central Asia the Professor Feng Yidjun, Executive Director of the Center for energy Economics and strategy studies Hayan Su flights. During the meeting, the state and prospects of bilateral political relations,topical issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, cooperation on security issues between Kazakhstan and China were discussed. The experts stressed the importance of developing a dialogue on a wide range of current issues of mutual interest.
The delegation of KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan also visited the progressively developing city in the South-East of the country, connecting China with Hong Kong – Shenzhen.
