On May 17, a meeting with the leadership of the Dialogue of Civilizations research institute took place at KazISS.
Director General Zarema Shaukenova, Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbayev, Scientific Secretary Kazbek Issayev, Head of the International Studies Department Assel Nazarbetova, Senior Expert Bolat Tokabayev and Senior Researcher of the International Studies Department Anastasia Reshetnyak participated from KazISS.
The “Dialogue of Civilizations” was represented by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Vladimir Yakunin, Program Manager Andrey Filippov and Project Coordinator Roman Okhotenko.
Opening the meeting, Zarema Shaukenova noted that a positive dynamic of mutual relations is taking shape between the two institutions, thanked Dialogue of Civilizations for successfully holding a joint conference in April of this year.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, the preservation of common cultural heritage were discussed. The experts exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, issues of regional and international security and stability. Vladimir Yakunin emphasized the role of Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev in the development of integration processes in the Eurasian space.
The meeting was concluded by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between KazISS and the AI “Dialogue of Civilizations”. The document creates the basis for the establishment and development of bilateral cooperation in research activities, contributes to the strengthening of scientific potential, the exchange of experience, the holding of joint conferences, round tables, expert meetings and meetings.
During the event, the director of KazISS presented Vladimir Yakunin with the commemorative medal "25 years of KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
