On June 24, the IV Forum of the Humanities “The Great Steppe” was held in the city of Nur-Sultan on the theme “Turkic civilization: from the sources to the present”. The organizer of the scientific meeting was the International Turkic Academy.
The main objective of the Forum is the discussion and analysis of the current state of the Turkic science, its achievements, problems and development prospects of domestic and foreign Turkic scientists, the role and importance of cultural values of the Great Steppe in the development of human civilization. An important goal of the Forum is to discuss and analyze the universal significance of the cultural values of the Turkic world in the context of the strategic objectives formulated in the program article of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe”.
The welcome speech of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev was read out by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aymagambetov.
In a welcoming speech to the participants of the IV Forum of the Humanities “The Great Steppe”, the President expressed confidence that “Today’s Forum provides an opportunity to comprehend new values for spiritual development, which were said in the programmatic article “7 Facets of the Great Steppe” by Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. What is important is how we can correctly and spiritually defeat and counter global challenges and threats, promote improvement and complacency. It is the humanitarian direction that contributes to their development. We must show the wisdom of our people. The first President of Mongolia Punsalmaagiin Ochirbat, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gasan Gasanov, the adviser to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Raev, the first Chairman of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Medetkan Sherimkulov specially attended the Forum. During the opening of the Forum, they were awarded special medals of the Turkic Academy. The medals were also awarded to Damir Iskhakov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Center for Ethnological Monitoring of the Executive Committee of the World Tatar Congress, and anthropologist, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Orazak Ismagulov.
As part of the Forum, 6 thematic sections were organized: “Current Issues of Folklore Studies and Literature of the Turkic World”, “History of the Formation and Development of Turkic Statehood”, “Genesis of the Turkic World - New Era in the History of the Great Steppe”, “Ethnocultural Features of the Turkic World”, “ Modern Turkology: new approaches ”,“ Integration processes in Eurasia: horizons of space and time ”.
The Humanities Forum under the auspices of the International Turkic Academy has become an effective tool for developing recommendations for strengthening ties and exchanging views between renowned world-class experts and solving actual problems at the global and regional levels. The IV Forum of the Humanities “The Great Steppe” gathered more than 250 Kazakh and foreign scientists from 21 countries from above on its authoritative site who discussed the latest discoveries in the field of Turkology. The director of the KazISS under President Zarema Shaukenova took part in the work of the Forum.
At the end of the Forum, a final resolution was adopted on the basis of recognition of the integration potential of science in order to strengthen mutual understanding and constructive cooperation.
