On July 1, was held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Toily Komekov, at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Consul of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurmyrat Taganov also took part in the meeting.
The Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbayev, the senior expert Bolat Tokabayev, the Head of the International Studies Department Assel Nazarbetova, and the Researcher of the International Studies Division Temirlan Yeskendir represented the KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, issues of establishing cooperation between the “brain” centers of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan were discussed. The interest was shown in holding joint events, round tables, and expert meetings. And, the implementation of various studies in the field of regional interaction in Central Asia.
The ambassador spoke about the preparation process of the First Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in Turkmenistan on August 12, 2019. The Forum is one of the starting events of a strategic nature in the recent history of relations between the Caspian countries.
Following the meeting, the parties noted the need to deepen scientific ties between the expert circles of the two countries.
