On August 15, 2019, KazISS under the President of the RK held the second expert meeting in the framework of the project «Migration of youth from the countries of Central Asia: analysis of risks and minimizing negative effects».
The investigation on youth migration is conducted in the framework of the project of International Organization for Migration (IOM) «Asian regional program for migration».
Leading experts on migration from Kazakhstan (including workers of KazISS under the President of the RK), Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are participating in the implementation of the project. In May-August of 2019 a group of researchers carried out research works, analysis of legislation and current trends in migration processes in the region.
The second expert meeting with the participation of external experts, which represent both relevant state structures and non-governmental organizations and academic institutes, was devoted to the preliminary results of the project. Experts discussed the content and conclusions of state reports, also the recommendations that are going to be reflected in the final report.
Director Zarema Shaukenova, chief research fellows Irina Chernykh and Lessya Karatayeva, senior research fellows Anastassiya Reshetnyak and Anna Alshanskaya represented the KISS at the meeting.
