August 26-29, KAZGUU University after M. Narikbayev in Nur-Sultan held «Impact evaluation Workshop and Conference». The event was organized by the state University of Georgia (Atlanta, USA), Astana Civil Service Hub, Institute of economic research in conjunction with the Higher School of Economics of M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University.
The main speakers were - Dean of the Andrew Young School of public administration Sally Wallis, senior researcher of the International center for public policy at the Andrew Young School of public administration at the University of Georgia Bauyrzhan Yedgenov, associate Professor of research, measurement and statistics in the Department of research in the field of educational policy of the College of education and human development Kevin Fortner.
Senior researcher of the Department of social and economic research Anna Alshanskaya took part in this event on behalf of the KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan.
During the event, participants reviewed the basic principles and methods of impact assessment, which are used in most OECD countries and developed countries in order to optimize public spending and improve the efficiency of public programs. Participants were also given the opportunity to learn from international experience in impact assessment and to present their own ideas and projects as part of the group work.
