On March 4, 2020, a guest lecture by the professor of the Hebrew University (Jerusalem, Israel) Vladimir Mesamed was held at KazISS. The lecture was devoted to Israeli policy in the Middle East and Central Asia, during which the pressing issues of the international agenda were also touched.
Vladimir Mesamed is an expert on the Middle East, an Iranologist. During the meeting, he shared his vision of the further positioning of Israel in the region and in the international arena. Particular attention was paid to the role and importance of “soft power”, the potential for its use in foreign policy.
The event was also attended by the Israeli Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Liat Vekselman, who spoke about the features of digital technology in Israeli diplomacy and the scientific and expert support of foreign policy.
The moderator was Deputy Director of KazISS Sanat Kushkumbayev. Heads of departments and experts of the Institute took part in the meeting.
