On March 4, 2020, at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Khayrullo Ibodzoda. The second secretary of the Embassy Alisher Agzamov also attended the meeting.
KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by the Director Zarema Shaukenova, the Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbayev, Head of the Department of International Studies Asel Nazarbetova.
During the meeting, participants discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Tajik relations, the implementation of projects aimed at increasing trade turnover, as well as the potential for interaction within the framework of regional cooperation in Central Asia.
The Ambassador announced the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, scheduled for June 2020 in Dushanbe, and invited the leadership of KazISS to take part in this event.
In addition, the parties noted the necessity to strengthen and deepen contacts between the research centers of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, including the established partnerships between KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CSR under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
