On April 29, 2020, Russian public opinion center (VCIOM) held Online Open Day, organized for professionals - researchers, analysts, and university professors using sociological data in their daily activities.
The event held a master class on the topic: “Sociology in the digital age: modern Internet technologies of public opinion polls”.
During the master class, Dmitry Kotov, a leading research manager on social and communication research practice, shared the results of surveys conducted by VCIOM in 2019. The presentation contained the main characteristics of the network practices, the population’s readiness for digital transformations in society.
In addition, the expert shared his own view of how modern Internet technologies can affect the methodology of sociological research as well as spoke about new the opportunities and challenges that digitalization can bring for sociological science.
KazISS was represented by the Heads of scientific-analytical departments Alua Zholdybalina, Zhanna Karimova, and Asara Mukanova.
