On May 5, 2020, the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, together with the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio presented a book by the famous scientist-historian, writer, journalist, doctor of historical sciences, Professor Laila Akhmetova “Panfilovtsyi: nasha gordost’, nasha slava", dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of the Great Victory.
The new documentary book of L. Akhmetova is an in-depth study based on the author’s many years of search work with materials from many libraries and archives of different countries - the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Podolsk Archive of the Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation; scientific archive of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Science Academy, where about thirty interviews of 1942-1946 are stored; Central State Archive of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The presentation of the book was wide international. Famous scientists, writers, journalists, search historians from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, representatives of foreign embassies in Kazakhstan, as well as relatives of Panfilov’s heroes took part in the online meeting. The meeting was moderated by Amanzhol Urazbaev, reserve colonel, Director of the Public Foundation “Arlan” Military-Patriotic Centre” and Valery Ruzin, President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio.
Asel Aben, Head of the KazISS Representative Office in Almaty and Lesya Karatayeva, Chief Research Fellow, Doctor of History participated in the online book presentation from KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the meeting, the participants noted important role of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy, in the spiritual and patriotic education of young people, also through the publication of such books, thanks to which historical memory is recreated, citizenship is brought up among the young generation. The participants expressed their universal hope that this work will continue in the future.
The book will also be presented in 10 cities of Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan - Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Taldykorgan, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Bishkek, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volokolamsk, Zelenograd.
