On May 13, 2020, Kazakhstani expert club jointly with the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) organized an online discussion called “New Economic Incentives”.
The event was attended by foreign and Kazakh experts who discussed the new sources of economic growth and the post-industrial development of Kazakhstan.
Presentation of results of the study "New economic incentives. Industrialization. Post-industrial development" was made by the Partner of Whiteshield Partners Kanysh Tuleushin. The speaker noted the need to develop a competitive environment and inclusion of small and medium-sized businesses in the supply chains of large companies, the support for innovation and research, as well as the fight against the shadow economy.
Albert Rau, Member of the Committee on Finance and Budget of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan assessed the prospects of the agricultural sector and emphasized the importance of reforms as a factor in the sustainable development of the country. The speaker recommended examining the effectiveness of subsidization mechanisms and increasing export opportunities in the agricultural sector. At the same time, Albert Pavlovich noted the importance of the study and its applicability for developing a new economic policy.
Sergei Tereshchenko, the candidate of economic science and academician of the International Academy of Informatization, highlighted the importance of introducing “high technologies” in the agricultural sector in order to strengthen food provision. In addition, according to Sergei Alexandrovich, there are underused opportunities in terms of food production.
Another participant in the online discussion, Kairat Mazhibaev, President of Resmi Group of Companies LLP, drew attention to ensuring a liberal trend in boosting industrialization and overcoming economic downturns.
As Taddy Hall, Senior partner at Lippincott, noted, one of the sources to increase economic activity and strengthen modernization processes is the development of entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
