In January 8, 2021, a briefing was held for foreign media who arrived in Kazakhstan as part of a press tour to cover the parliamentary elections on January 10 of this year. The organizer of the briefing is the International Information Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The speakers at the briefing were: from KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Director Zarema Shaukenova, Deputy Directors Sanat Kushkumbayev and Sabina Sadiyeva, heads of departments Alua Zholdybalina and Asel Nazarbetova, Chief Research fellow Lesya Karatayeva; from expert and analytical structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Director of CCR "Alternative" Andrey Chebotarev, Director of the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research Talgat Kaliyev, Director of the Expert Institute of European Law and Human Rights Marat Bashimov, analyst of the Center for Applied Research "TALAP" Askar Kysykov.
Foreign journalists represented various print and electronic media from Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Egypt, Spain, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland.
During the briefing, the speakers were asked questions on a wide range of topics of interest to foreign journalists, including the preparations for the parliamentary elections, political reforms carried out in Kazakhstan in recent years, the socio-economic situation in the country subsequently to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, priorities foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on bilateral relations with the respective countries, the geopolitical situation in the region and in the whole world.
