In March 26, 2021, at the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, a working meeting was held between the Director and Deputy Director of the KazISS Zarema Shaukenova and Sanat Kushkumbayev with the Head of the Office in Almaty of the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan Tolganay Umbetalieva.
The Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan is a long-term partner of the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Together with the Fund, a number of international scientific and practical conferences were held, including the annual conferences of the KazISS on security in Central Asia, as well as the II Central Asian Expert Forum “Dialogue on water and energy issues in Central Asia: through national to regional "(2019).
During the meeting, the leadership of the KazISS under the President and the Head of the office in Almaty of the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation discussed the future presentation of the results of the study "Youth of Kazakhstan", which is planned to be held in the fall of this year in Nur-Sultan.
The study "Youth of Central Asia" was initiated by the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan in 2014. Field studies were carried out by the Public Opinion Institute (Head - Botagoz Rakisheva). In 2019, it was decided to continue the project and conduct a second wave of research. The second study was carried out in Kazakhstan from January to March 2020 by BISAM Central Asia (Leader - Leonid Gurevich). The scientific consultant of the project was the renowned German youth research scientist Prof. Harring with his research team.
Within the framework of the presentation, along with a discussion of the research results, several narrowly thematic analytical reports (Policy Paper), developed by young Kazakhstani scientists-analysts on the basis of this study, will also be presented: Youth and the labor market; Youth and Migration Issues; Youth and education; Youth and religion, etc.
The Director of the KazISS thanked the Head of the office in Almaty of the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan and, through her, the Head of the Representative Office of the Foundation, Mr. Christoph Mohr, for the long-term fruitful cooperation, expressing readiness to discuss the results of the new research conducted with the support of the Representative of the Foundation.
