On September 13, 2022 on the eve of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Nur-Sultan the KazISS leadership held a series of bilateral meetings with the French and Russian delegations.
During the meeting with Jean-Christophe Paucel, religious affairs adviser at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the issues of interfaith dialogue, religious radicalization and deradicalization in the modern world were discussed.
Sanat Kushkumbayev deputy director of KazISS, told about the activity of the institute, key directions, conducted researches, and noted that long-term experience of France is useful from the point of view of development of interreligious dialogue.
Jean-Christophe Posele talked about the specificity of his work as a Counselor for Religious Affairs and shared his experience in the Arab-Muslim world.
Also, a meeting was held with the Head of the Department of Public Policy of the Faculty of Political Science of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Vladimir Ivanovich Yakunin.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on current challenges and transformations of global politics, regional security, and discussed further prospects of cooperation in the research sphere.
