On August 12, 2022 within the walls of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan a meeting was held between the director Yerkin Tukumov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to the RK Zhang Xiao.
During the conversation a wide range of topics concerning Kazakhstani-Chinese relations, the international agenda, as well as research activities of the two countries were discussed.
Discussing the issue of Taiwan, the director of KazISS confirmed the official position of Kazakhstan to support the principle of “one China” and the inalienability of Taiwan as part of the territory of the People’s Republic of China.
Also, during the meeting Mr. Tukumov expressed the need to develop cooperation between analytical centers of Kazakhstan and China.
