On 24 November 2025, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) hosted a meeting with a delegation of the European Union led by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais, with the participation of the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aleska Simkic.
KazISS Director Zhandos Shaimardanov emphasized the importance of systematic cooperation with European analytical institutions and noted the mutual interest in expanding research and expert collaboration. “Over more than 30 years, Kazakhstan and the European Union have built a strong strategic partnership, and we are convinced that the potential of our cooperation goes far beyond current achievements,” said Zh. Shaimardanov.
The EU representatives highlighted the importance of expert exchange and expressed their readiness to jointly promote current regional initiatives.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan, opportunities to expand collaboration with Central Asian countries, as well as the further development of the partnership between KazISS and the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan.
Special attention was given to strengthening expert ties and establishing sustainable cooperation between think tanks of Kazakhstan and the European Union member states.
