Today Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the RK held a meeting with representatives of the Institute of Parliamentarism under the Parliament. The parties discussed future cooperation and details of planned initiatives.
During the meeting, KazISS Director Yerkin Tukumov and Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism Kanatbek Safinov signed a memorandum that defines various aspects of cooperation.
The agreement provides for the exchange of scientific materials, mutual information support and organization of expert discussions and round tables. Moreover, the parties will be able to conduct joint research and publish scientific articles in their publications in the areas of the institutes’ activities.
During the meeting, the heads of the two analytical structures noted that legislative initiatives and the lawmaking process should be based on scientific research, analytics and expert recommendations. Cooperation between KazISS and the Institute of Parliamentarism should become a basis for more active involvement of the expert analytical community in lawmaking.
Overall, the memorandum aims to strengthen dialogue and expand cooperation between the two organizations.
