Today at the meeting of the National Expert Platform «KazISS GPS» during the discussion of the Address of the Head of State, the creation of the Expert Council on Economic Development was announced. The Council will analyze and discuss various aspects of economic development. The result of this work will be recommendations addressed to the Head of State, the Presidential Administration, the Government and other stakeholders.
The topic of the Expert Council meeting was the state planning system. In the Address of the President of Kazakhstan the task of cardinal revision of this system was set to make it more compact and flexible. Our country is an important part of the global economic system, and all external challenges and the current economic environment require a more flexible and adaptive approach to planning. Effective state planning becomes an integral part of the country’s strategy in a globalized and rapidly changing world.
According to Nurlan Sakuov, Deputy Director – Head of the Center for Economic Research, the state planning system serves as a basis for further qualitative and effective implementation of all the President’s instructions. “Through it, programs are formed, indicators, tasks and assignments are defined, their interrelation with other strategic documents and financial resources is studied.”
The Expert Council plans to discuss other important topics on a permanent basis. For example, inter-budget relations, regional development, current economic risks. The Council will develop detailed and qualitative recommendations, which will allow to solve economic and strategic tasks more effectively.
The meeting was attended by experts in the field of economics and finance, representatives of the expert community. Among them were Rahim Oshakbayev, director of “Talap” Center for Applied Research, Olzhas Kudaibergenov, senior partner of the Center for Strategic Initiatives, Ruslan Sultanov, chairman of the board of the JSC “Institute of Economic Research”, Kairbek Arystanbekov, director of the Institute of Economic Policy, Talgat Yergaliyev, expert of the NCE “Atameken”, Mukhtar Abutalip, deputy director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Reform Monitoring of ASPaR, Tolkyn Karimova, deputy director of the Department of Strategic Analysis and Development, and others.
