On July 7, 2022, the first meeting of the Expert Council on Education and Science was held at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Science and education determine the quality of human capital in the country, so the modernization of the education system is a long-term strategic task of the state.
Modern education is undergoing a significant transformation against the backdrop of digitalization, innovations in the field of natural and technical sciences, but also a reassessment of “flexible” skills and competencies that are closely related to personal qualities that are no less important for building a successful career.
Today’s graduates are the backbone of a globalized labor market, where even local companies are part of the global competitive labor exchange. Therefore, the competitiveness of the education system of our country will be a determining factor in the development of the state. In this regard, the reorganization of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will strengthen the quality professionally oriented training of schoolchildren and students.
The Expert Council on Education and Science at the KazISS aims to develop proposals for the modernization of education and science in the context of the specifics of regional production, as well as taking into account the challenges of a socio-economic and geopolitical nature.
At the first meeting, the main directions of the council’s work and priority research topics were determined. Among them: financing of science, improvement of the Bolashak program, the state language in science and education, audit of regional universities and other topical issues.
Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerkin Tukumov, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhuldyz Suleimenova, deputy chairman of the board of KazGUU named after M. Narikbayeva Ainur Karbozova, head of the Ulttyk Ustaz online academy Gulmira Kurganbayeva and consultant of the political work department of the Amanat party Gulnar Nurakhmetkhanova.
