Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerkin Tukumov, and Director of the Department of Continental Europe at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brice Roquefeuil, discussed current trends on the international agenda.
Both sides emphasized the importance of analytical activities in addressing strategic issues related to international security. Brice Roquefeuil expressed France’s concern about the situation in Afghanistan and counterterrorism methods.
Another topic of discussion was water management in Central Asia. This issue is particularly relevant in light of the upcoming One Water Summit, which Kazakhstan plans to hold jointly with France during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The French delegation supports the development of partnership relations between scientific institutions of the two countries, including through the development of joint educational and analytical programs.
