The key message of the event was the idea of promoting human rights through security and development. Chinese researchers note that poverty is the main obstacle to human rights, so the international agenda in this area should reflect the position of developing countries. In this regard, China’s global “Belt and Road” Initiative, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has become a major platform for international cooperation.
More than 100 researchers, experts, representatives of youth organizations from five countries of Central Asia and PRC took part in the forum. SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming and CICA Secretary-General Kairat Sarybay delivered video messages to the forum participants.
Aliya Mussabekova, the leading expert of the Department of Asian Studies at KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan, participated in the session “Co-building the Belt and Road – the development and progress of human rights”. In her speech she spoke about the work of the Constitutional Court and other reforms in the field of human rights in Kazakhstan in the light of political modernization and new economic policy.
