On July 12, 2024, a meeting with the Indian Consul in Almaty, Swapnil Kothawade, was held at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
The purpose of the visit was to meet with experts and get acquainted with the activities of KISI, particularly its research on Asian affairs, discuss potential cooperation opportunities, and explore joint events and projects.
Mr. Swapnil Kothawade expressed his willingness to facilitate connections between research and analytical centers, as well as experts from Kazakhstan and India, which would contribute to a deeper understanding of both countries and the expansion of bilateral relations.
KazISS experts highlighted the importance of a more detailed study of processes occurring in India, given its growing global role and economic potential. According to global financial conglomerates’ forecasts, India could rank as the third-largest economy in the world by 2027.
Both parties exchanged information and expressed interest in participating in major expert forums in both countries—the Security and Cooperation Forum in Kazakhstan and the Raisina Dialogue in India—where global and regional issues, geopolitics, and the world economy are discussed.
