The Director of KazISS met with the Ambassador of the PRC

On December 18, a meeting was held at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) with Han Chunlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, KazISS Director Zhandos Shaimardanov emphasized the high level of Kazakhstan–China relations. He noted that Kazakhstan and China share a common vision of long-term, pragmatic cooperation based on a high level of political trust.

Special attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the “Central Asia – China” format, which has proven itself as one of the most effective and institutionally well-established platforms for regional dialogue.

The parties also discussed key issues of trade and economic cooperation, investment interaction, and the expansion of partnership beyond traditional sectors, including industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, green energy, and digitalization.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the KazISS leadership for the substantive dialogue and noted China’s interest in further developing expert-level interaction, as well as in deepening cooperation with Kazakhstan as a key partner in Central Asia.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue regular expert dialogue and to implement joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
