A Meeting with the UK Ambassador to Kazakhstan Held at KazISS

On 24 November 2025, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kazakhstan, Sally Axworthy. The visit focused on discussing current issues on the bilateral agenda and enhancing expert cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting, KazISS Director Zhandos Shaimardanov briefed the guest on the history of the institute’s establishment, its structure, and its main areas of activity.

During the discussion, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening scholarly and analytical dialogue between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom. Special attention was given to the political and economic reforms underway in Kazakhstan, as well as key foreign policy issues. For her part, Ms. Axworthy stressed the importance of such exchanges of views for enhancing mutual understanding and expanding the partnership between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and develop practical forms of cooperation between the “think tanks” and expert communities of the two countries in studying global and regional processes. The discussion served as an important step toward further deepening Kazakhstan–UK relations.
