The cooperation between Kazakhstan and Malaysia is taking on a more profound character. Active work is being done in areas such as information technology, education, tourism, energy, and agriculture. Kazakhstan may gain access to ASEAN markets through Malaysia, while Malaysia, in turn, through our transit potential, gains access to Central Asia.
The development trajectory of bilateral relations is aimed at establishing cooperation in the intellectual sphere. Today, within the framework of the forum with the participation of the prime ministers of both countries, a Memorandum was signed between the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Strategic and International Studies of Malaysia.
This is the main analytical center of Malaysia, initiating significant proposals for state building, and one of the founders of the Asian-Pacific Security Cooperation Council. It promotes closer regional integration and international cooperation through the ASEAN Institute of Strategic and International Studies, the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, and the Network of East Asian Think Tanks (NEAT).
During the meeting with the Chairman of the Institute, Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah, the director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, Yerkin Tukumov, noted that cooperation between analytical institutions would contribute to the development of scientific and expert ties between our countries. Establishing such contacts is part of the work of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies aimed at actively developing relations with regional middle powers such as Malaysia.
