THE CENTRAL ASIAN FORUM ON SECURITY AND COOPERATION «ASIA IN THE CHANGING WORLD: AGENDA FOR THE FUTURE»
ABOUT
Asia is becoming a key centre of political and geo-economic attraction. But, simultaneously, the rise of Asia has its risks. With population growth, climate change, aggravation of territorial disputes, as well as growing global rivalry between leading countries, as the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted: “instead of the “Asian Age of Prosperity”, you can get the “Asian Time of Troubles” with negative consequences for the entire world.”
For the countries of Central Asia, the transition of the centre from West to East will be of strategic importance. Timely adaptation to the new realities of international processes and integration into the new world order paradigm can give the necessary impetus to domestic and regional development.
The Forum will become a new platform for discussing the most critical issues of Asian development, which will bring together well-known thinkers, experts, politicians and representatives of the academic sphere.
