Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan is actively working on interaction at the level of analytical research centers, taking into account the importance of further development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the field of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Today the Kazakh-Azerbaijani expert council was created to promote further growth of quality of activity and close cooperation of expert circles of the two countries. On the basis of research interaction it is planned to create a “bank” of ideas, developments and projects.
On May 23, 2022 in Baku the Memorandum of Establishment of the Expert Council was signed by the Director of KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerkin Tukumov and the Chairman of the Board of the Center for Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev.
Within the framework of the signed memorandum, the parties agreed to strengthen ties between the analytical centers of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in order to increase the efficiency of analytical work, as well as to hold a full meeting of the Council in Kazakhstan this fall.
In order to ensure exchange of professional opinions on social and political transformations taking place in our countries, Yerkin Tukumov, Director of KazISS under the President of Kazakhstan, took part in a round table in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In his speech, the KazISS Director elaborated on key aspects of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, including political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.
It was noted that the common historical roots, the similarity of language and culture are strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness between the two countries.
“Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are linked by strong ties of brotherly friendship. I would especially like to emphasize the enormous contribution made by our Presidents – respected Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev and Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev,” said Yerkin Tukumov.
The economic cooperation between Nur-Sultan and Baku is widely developing, which in practice is implemented in the oil and gas sector, transport and logistics, development of “green energy”, agriculture.
“In favor of strengthening ties and multifaceted cooperation also speaks our strategy of mutually beneficial partnership in the future. More than 500 Azerbaijani companies are registered in Kazakhstan. In this regard, there is a need to establish a Business Council between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The Council of Experts is another contribution to the strengthening of relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan,” said Yerkin Tukumov.
