Chief Expert of the Regional Affairs Department for Turkestan Region, part-time (0.25 full-time equivalent), category B1-2.
Functional responsibilities:
Conducting fundamental and applied scientific and analytical research in the main areas of the Department’s activities (analytical reports on актуальные issues of regional development, briefing notes with proposals and recommendations on region-relevant research topics, analytical digests based on monitoring and review of regional information sources); organizing the collection, study, and analysis of scientific information in the Department’s areas of activity (reports following attendance at meetings of akims and maslikhat deputies with the population, as well as sessions of public councils at regional/city/district levels, expert meetings, and other socially significant events).
Facilitating the expansion of KazISS’s partner network in the region and maintaining ongoing communication with regional experts; establishing cooperation with executive authorities (regional expert database); participating in the preparation and conduct of KazISS round tables on the Department’s thematic areas, as well as working meetings of KazISS management.

Requirements for applicants:
Higher education and at least 10 years of work experience; or, with a Master’s degree, at least 5 years of work experience; or, with a Doctor of Sciences, Candidate of Sciences, or PhD degree — no work experience requirement. Residence in Turkestan Region.
