According to a public opinion survey commissioned by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) in October 2025, trust in President of the Republic of Kazakhstan remains consistently high at 86%. This level has remained stable in recent years, reflecting public support for the country’s course of modernization and renewal of the country.
Young people demonstrate the highest level of trust (90.1%). The younger the generation, the stronger the expectations of change; the older the generation, the stronger the desire to preserve stability. Together, these sentiments form the foundation for balanced renewal that unites the majority of citizens today.
Trust in President also grows with educational level. The higher the education, the stronger the believe that the reforms are systematic and purposeful, not accidental.
Both urban (85%) and rural residents (87.6%) maintain a high level of trust. Rural residents are traditionally closer to the state in a practical sense – through infrastructure, programs, and payments – while urban trust is more rational, analytical, grounded in perception of coherent and consistent reforms.
Finally, men and women express similar level of trust. There are no “male” or “female” perspectives on stability and confidence in the future; there is a shared sense that the state’s course should remain steady.
Overall, the social profile of trust reflects a broad national consensus. Different socio-demographic groups explain their trust differentle, but converge on one common expectation, the expectation of sustainable, consistent, and fair development of Kazakhstan.
The sociological survey was conducted by order of KazISS from October 3 to November 5, 2025. The sample size was 8,000 respondents. The survey included respondents aged 18 and older from 17 regions and 3 cities of national significance – Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.
