On March 10, 2022, a meeting was held at the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin and Embassy Counselor Sergei Ivanov.
Director Yerkin Tukumov, Deputy Director Sanat Kushkumbayev and Research Fellow of the Department of International Studies Alisher Abdreshev took part in the meeting from KazISS.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of intensifying contacts between Kazakh and Belarusian think tanks. An agreement was reached to hold joint events between the KazISS and the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS). During the conversation, the parties agreed on the importance of dialogue between leading analysts and experts of the two states in order to exchange views on current international events.
Touching upon the bilateral agenda of Kazakh-Belarusian relations, it was noted that cooperation between the two countries is at a high level. Dialogue is developing in all key areas and there is potential for further strengthening.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of further developing a productive partnership between the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also expressed their intention to hold joint events on topical issues on the international agenda.
