KazISS Representative Office in Almaty Hosted a Meeting with the Leaders of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Project

On June 12, 2025,a meeting took place at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) Representative Office in Almaty with Constantin Blaschke, Project Manager of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Central Asia.

Mr. Blaschke was introduced to the activities of the KazISS Representation in Almaty and discussed potential directions for cooperation and expanding partnership relations.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation, established in 1967, is closely affiliated with Germany’s Christian Social Union (CSU). The Foundation’s project in Central Asia, launched in 2009, aims to promote and support the administrative capacity of governmental, civil society, and parliamentary sectors in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on climate change and water resource management in the region, prospects for cooperation in Central Asia, key regional security challenges and risks amid evolving conditions, as well as main areas of collaboration between the Hanns Seidel Foundation and Central Asian organizations in public administration.

The sides agreed on the Foundation’s support for conducting interdisciplinary research on water-related issues, organizing joint events, and publishing research findings.
