Today at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held with a Chinese delegation from reputable universities engaged in Eurasian studies. Among the guests were representatives from the Eurasian Research Institute of the China National University, the National Academy of Development and Strategy at CNU, and others.
Welcoming the guests, Nurlan Sakuov, the Deputy Director of KazISS, emphasized that the relations between Kazakhstan and China are progressing at a dynamic pace. He noted that a significant milestone in the development of relations between the two countries was the Third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing: “At the forum, the leaders of Kazakhstan and China signed 30 commercial documents with a total value of 16.54 billion dollars, including investment agreements, trade contracts, technology transfer agreements for production, opening of credit lines, and much more. These documents will undoubtedly provide a new impetus for the development of relations between the two countries.”
In turn, the colleagues from China highlighted the prospects of cooperation in the development of green energy, solar technologies, and the promotion of interconnectivity in energy projects.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the development of transportation routes. KazISS experts emphasized that our country is making significant efforts to become a transport and logistics hub of international significance. Approximately 85 percent of all overland transit shipments from China to Europe pass through Kazakhstan. Over the past 15 years, more than 35 billion dollars have been invested in the development of the transit and transportation industry.
The meeting also addressed matters related to the development of infrastructure and the achievements of Kazakhstan-China cooperation. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuing the dialogue and collaboration with the aim of advancing the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
