On November 21, a meeting took place in Astana between Director of KazISS, Yerkin Tukumov, and a member of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Central Asia and Mongolia (DCAS), Ryszard Czarnecki, who arrived on a working visit to Kazakhstan.
Yerkin Tukumov welcomed the Member of the European Parliament and noted that such visits enable the establishment of an effective dialogue and the exchange of views on international processes and the prospects for developing relations between the EU and Kazakhstan.
Ryszard Czarnecki emphasized that Kazakhstan’s leadership positions in the region play a crucial role in building constructive interaction between Central Asia and EU countries.
The parties acknowledged the effectiveness of political reforms in the country, particularly in the reform of local self-government. The distinguished guest informed about the planned visit of a delegation from European countries in the spring of next year to strengthen inter-parliamentary and expert ties and communications.
