KazISS Delegation Holds Bilateral Meetings in Beijing

On November 22, the delegation of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) held a series of meetings with leading think tanks in China, aiming to strengthen expert collaboration and develop bilateral relations.

During a meeting at the Institute of Eurasian Social Development under the State Council of China, the discussions focused on the importance of expert engagement, priority topics in the cooperation agenda, and prospects for the operational format of the Kazakhstan-China Think Tank Forum.

KazISS Director Yerkin Tukumov shared his vision for the future of the forum, which he believes could become a regular platform for discussing key issues in international politics. The possibility of involving various Kazakhstani and Chinese institutions to deepen collaboration within the forum framework was also discussed.

Additionally, the discussion touched on the most likely scenarios for geopolitical developments in Eurasia, considering ongoing international changes.

The meeting also addressed topics such as the evolving geopolitical situation in Eurasia, the economic and political development of neighboring states, prospects for relationships within regional initiatives, and possible approaches to resolving existing conflicts.

At the meeting with the China Academy of International Affairs, the focus was on priority areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, including potential partnerships in economic and humanitarian sectors. The Chinese side expressed interest in joint work on sustainable development issues and expanding bilateral ties at the level of academic and analytical circles.

During the negotiations, both parties exchanged views on the current geopolitical situation and changes in international politics in light of emerging challenges.

Overall, the expert meetings underscored the importance of regular dialogue and continued engagement at the expert level. The KazISS delegation emphasized Kazakhstan’s readiness to actively participate in joint initiatives that strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstani and Chinese think tanks.
