As part of his visit to Washington and meetings with leading U.S. think tanks, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) Zhandos Shaimardanov held talks with experts from the America First Policy Institute (AFPI).

Experts exchanged views on countries’ strategic partnership, which has been further enhanced by the agreements between Kazakhstan and the United States worth over 17 billion USD. These agreements open up new opportunities for joint projects in the energy sector and high-tech industries.

Zhandos Shaimardanov also briefed his counterparts on the socio-economic and political reforms being implemented by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Carla Sands expressed her interest in visiting the region and discussing the implementation of joint projects aimed at expanding U.S. cooperation with the countries of Central Asia.
