KazISS Expert Spoke at the CAMCA-2025 Regional Forum

Sanat Kushkumbayev, Chief Research Fellow at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated as a speaker at the CAMCA-2025 Regional Forum, which took place on June 19–20, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The theme of the CAMCA-2025 Forum was “Shaping the Region’s Future: Business, Society, and Governance in CAMCA.” Sanat Kushkumbayev took part in a special plenary session titled “Institutionalizing the CAMCA Region,” where he presented his research “Gone but Not Forgotten: The Central Asian Union, 1990–2005” in the format of a policy paper published by the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute & Silk Road Studies Program. In his address, he also shared his vision for the prospects of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the broader CAMCA region.

Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMCA Forum has been held in various countries across the region, gathering over 1,700 participants and 490 speakers from around the world. The Forum is recognized as a leading regional platform for young leaders from diverse industries and sectors across the 10 CAMCA countries, offering opportunities for collaboration and strategic partnerships among key regional and international stakeholders. It serves as a platform for exchanging ideas with leading experts and exploring current entrepreneurial, technological, and socio-economic trends in the region. Among the Forum’s participants are presidents and prime ministers of the region’s countries, members of parliaments, ministers, former U.S. government officials, ambassadors, World Bank presidents, entrepreneurs, investors, top executives, university rectors, and many others.
