Today, a session of the Academic Council was held at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as KazISS), with the participation of the State Counsellor Erlan Karin.
During the session at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS), the main directions of analytical work and key activities for 2024 were discussed. Specifically, KazISS’s focus will be on studying domestic political processes, economic development trends in Kazakhstan, and defining the contours of the foreign policy landscape.
The State Counsellor, in his address discussing the institute’s tasks for the upcoming period, highlighted that the general agenda of state policy was set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his January interview with the “Egemen Qazaqstan” newspaper. Therefore, as a key think tank, KazISS should actively participate in the expert-analytical support of the implemented state policy.
Furthermore, Erlan Karin positively assessed plans and initiatives of KazISS regarding strengthening cooperation with the expert community in the regions, supporting young experts, and expanding international collaboration, particularly in the joint preparation of the “Central Asia’s Affairs” journal.
