On December 7, 2022, an international conference “Central Asia: the Age of Reforms” was held in Vienna, organized by the the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development, and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Austria. Head of the International Research Department of the KazISS, Aidar Kurmashev participated in the conference.
One of the most important topics for discussion were political reforms in Kazakhstan, socio-economic development in Central Asia, as well as the possibility of implementing European infrastructure, humanitarian projects.
Conference participants also exchanged views on key development trends in the region and ways to further strengthen cooperation between European and Central Asian countries. According to experts, the development of the expert dialogue allows to expand the understanding of the positions of the parties, as well as to work out in detail the issues of cooperation on specific points of convergence of interests.
