«People about People»: Kazakhstanis about travel

The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents the answers of Kazakhstanis to the question of whether they have had a chance to travel to other countries or not yet, and what they think about it.

September 27th is the World Tourism Day, which was established in 1979 and aims to draw the attention of the international community to the importance of tourism and its social, cultural and economic significance.

It’s been more than a year since the coronavirus made significant changes in the lives of people all over the planet.And above all, it affected the ability to travel, both within the country and to other countries. We decided to look back at the old pre-covid times, to turn to the results of the 2019 sociological survey, and to introduce the respondents’ answers to the question: “Have you had a chance to visit different countries ofthe world?”

Almost half of all respondents are optimistic about traveling to other countries. Thus, 46.7% of respondents have a positive attitude to travel and believe that theyare quite capable of it.
