During the Meeting of the Official Foreign Policy Research Centers of the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) a meeting was held between Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerkin Tukumov and Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliyev. The key issues of cooperation between Turkic states and preparation for the upcoming Summit in Astana were discussed during this meeting.
One of the main aspects raised at the meeting was the need to actively involve the official centers of foreign policy research of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States in the process of developing recommendations for the upcoming Summit, which will be held on November 3 this year in Astana. It was also agreed to work together to provide practical proposals for the activities of the organization on a permanent basis.
The main topics of discussion were increasing the level of trade between Turkic countries, development of transport corridors, agriculture, which is important for ensuring food security in the region. The parties noted that trade and economic relations have great potential, expressed interest in joint research and innovation projects, and expressed the need to develop strategies to strengthen interstate trade, reduce barriers and stimulate the internal market of the Organization.
