KazISS Hosts Meeting with German Ambassador to Kazakhstan

The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) hosted an Ambassador Hour meeting with Her Excellency Heike Peitsch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During her lecture, the German diplomat shared her views on the current state of relations between Berlin and Astana and the prospects for their further development.
KazISS Director Zhandos Shaimardanov highlighted the high level and strategic nature of relations between Kazakhstan and Germany, emphasizing the significance of President Tokayev’s visit to Germany in September 2026, which gave fresh impetus to the further development of bilateral cooperation.
The event featured an open question-and-answer session, during which KazISS experts engaged with the Ambassador on a wide range of issues of mutual interest. Particular attention was paid to Germany’s extensive experience in supporting and developing small and medium-sized enterprises, introducing advanced technologies, and the potential for adapting successful German practices to Kazakhstan.
Another key topic was the development of Kazakhstan-Germany cooperation in education, including the implementation of joint educational projects and the exchange of experience. KazISS experts also exchanged views with the Ambassador on pressing international issues, discussing the current geopolitical situation and major trends shaping international relations.
The Ambassador Hour is a regular KazISS initiative aimed at fostering direct professional dialogue with heads of foreign diplomatic missions. These meetings provide an opportunity for the Institute’s experts to exchange assessments of key issues in bilateral cooperation and international affairs, while gaining firsthand insights into the perspectives of foreign partners.
